A face mask is by far the most popular accessory in 2020 for obvious reasons. If one goes out in public without a face mask, he or she would not only be met with death stares by the public but can also be slapped with a hefty fine by the authorities. However, there are those who are still stubborn and insist on not wearing a mask because it is their right as a human.

This issue might not be a huge one in Malaysia because generally, our rakyat is smart, but in the US, it is a different story. This has prompted YouTuber inventor and former “MythBuster: The Search” contestant, Allan Pan to invent a gun which can shoot a face mask right onto those who insist on not wearing one.

As reported by CNET, Allan built the gun by using a used a spray paint can, a CO2 canister’s solenoid valve and parts from a car’s brake line for his launcher. He was so confident with his invention that he tried it out on himself first and his surprise, it works! This prompted him to take his invention to the beach but only to realize that the shady weapon-looking design turned people off and his targeted was severely affected by the wind which revealed the impracticality of real-world use.

Watch the video here:

His invention might not totally work in real life but we have to applaud his intention to combat those who are still reluctant to wear a mask. Thankfully in Malaysia, we have overcome the problem of people refusing to wear masks and the rakyat is now working together as the country battles the Covid-19 pandemic.
