Japan is a country that loves their drinking and it’s not uncommon to see drunks lying on the street after a night out. Many times, you will see inebriated businessmen unconscious as they sleep the night away on the pavement or young men sprawled on the kerb.
If these sights of intoxication are intriguing for you then you’ll be glad to know that it has been immortalised as a new line of capsule toys from Tama-Kyu. PR Times states that this line is known as #YopparaiNau (Drunk Now) and there are five of them for you to collect.
Each of the figurines is depicted in a different predicament that you’ll normally see and they measure about five centimetres in height. These include the “Person Wearing a Road Pylon,” which is an inebriated businessman lying on his briefcase with the cone covering his face.
Then there is the “Person Sleeping on the Side of the Road” and boy, that person must be really flexible because that position does not look comfortable. Next up, we have the “Person with no Pants,” which is a true legend. Other than that, there is also “Person Hugging a Telephone Pole” showing a girl with her arms out to hold on to some support. Do note though that the telephone pole is not included!
Finally, there’s the classically beautiful “Person who Needs a Waste Basket” and we all know that one pretty well. It shows a girl sitting down and holding a wastebasket in preparation in case something bad happens. One capsule toy costs 300 yen (RM11.60) and who knows, they might just be collector’s items in the future. Plus, they look really amusing!
I don’t know about you but I would totally get this if I were travelling to Japan!
