A&W was a big thing in our childhood and till today, we will always go there for the nostalgic taste of the root beer floats and coney dogs. Well, what’s better than that?
Having all that in a retro-themed A&W of course!
A&W Malaysia’s latest outlet is bringing back the vibes and groove of the ’60s, ’70s and the ’80s when funk, soul, disco and classics were the IT things. It is located in Seventeen Mall at Section 17, Petaling Jaya!
That fast-food outlet has a chic retro vibe to it and it is strengthened with the placement of certain furniture such as bar stools, booths and some super aesthetic neon signs. It even has a functioning jukebox where you can play some tunes to enhance your dine-in experience! According to the press statement, the cost to make this retro-themed restaurant come to life was about RM1 million!
The restaurant can fit about 80 people at any given time and if you want to have a private function, then they have a Private Zone with a capacity of 20 people.
George Ang, CEO of A&W Malaysia said:
“This new retro concept store reflects our continued commitment to customers. We wanted to bring back the ‘good old days’ while at the same time cater to a younger and modern generation of consumers.”
“While the new store will certainly have its unique appeal with the older generation, we believe that even millennials will find this store ‘Instagram-worthy’ and truly unique.”
To prioritize safety for customers and staff, proper SOPs are practised in the outlet:
- Extensive sanitisation procedures of tables, chairs, buzzers, trays and door handles
- Customers who dine-in are encouraged to wear a mask and maintain social distancing
- Temperature screenings are carried out at the entrance
- No usage of the sauce counter but sauce sachets will be given out
- If customers forgot to wear their masks, they can get one with a charge of RM1 (all proceeds goes to charity)
This seems like such a fun A&W outlet to go to for the coney dogs, waffles and floats! Will you be visiting anytime soon?
