Scams are a pretty common occurrence in Malaysia whereby every adult would have received at least one call either from the ‘court’ or messages saying that they have an unclaimed parcel.
With the overwhelming amount of cases reported, it is understandable that Malaysians are especially wary when it comes to calls and messages from unknown phone numbers who ‘claim’ that they are from the government.
Recently, the Ministry of Health (KKM) took to their social media platforms to inform the public that they will be contacting Covid-19 positive cases through this number: 03-2703 3000.
They also said that they will be sending out messages to remind people to fill up their Home Assessment Tool (HAT) in MySejahtera for monitoring by Virtual CAC.
However, since they will send a link, it would be wise to not click it but rather go into your MySejahtera application to do what you need to do as there might be scammers who will be replicating the message and sending it to you. Better be safe than sorry!
During this transition to the endemic phase, we hope that more people will get vaccinated as it has been proven to reduce the chance of hospitalisation and also death. Remember to sanitise your hands when possible and practice physical distancing when you’re outside!
