Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honour Society (ΣΞ) is a non-profit, honour society for scientists and engineers, which was founded in 1886 at Cornell University by a junior faculty member and a handful of graduate students.
To know exactly why Sigma Xi is a respected society amongst scientists and engineers alike, the society comprises over 200 Nobel Prize winners, among them, Albert Einstein, Enrico Flemi, Linus Pauling, Francis Crick and we are proud to say, our fellow Malaysians has just been nominated for induction.
Ainil Asyikin Norazman proved nothing is impossible as this Princeton University graduate became the first to receive The Donald Janssen Dike Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research, which eventually nominated her for entry into Sigma Xi.
Uploaded on the MARA USA Facebook page, her entry into Sigma Xi could only mean that great things await, as she can now stand toe-to-toe with notable figures in science and engineering.
Taking to Facebook, Ainil shared a glowing status update that was uploaded by her mother.
Her mother wrote: “Mission accomplished. Entering an Ivy League university, having made to go through four years of trials as a Princetonian, I am proud to congratulate Ainil Azman for this achievement.”
Let’s hope that her success will inspire more to follow her footsteps and achieve academic greatness.
