A stall in Felda Lubuk Merbau, Kedah, has become the focus of residents who want to get kuih-muih at the most affordable price ever, only RM0.10 a piece!

The stall is called Sekupang Cucoq, run by 54-year-old Roslina Saad who offers around 15 types of kuih ranging from karipap, buah melaka, ketayap and lopes, and apparently prepares around 5,000 kuihs everyday.

According to a report by Kosmo, Roslina has maintained the price of RM0.10 per piece of kuih since she started the business more than 20 years ago.

“I do not deny that the cost of raw materials has increased and can be said to be too high, but I still maintain the price because I want to help the general public. Actually, when we make kuih in large quantities, we are still able to make a profit and employ workers,” she said.

Additionally, she hopes that with her pricing, her customer and those who are underprivileged can taste and enjoy a variety of kuih at only RM1

“If you buy kuih for RM1, customers can get 10 types of kuih that can be mixed.”

Roslina shared that, apart from making the business a source of income, she also wants to do charitable work for the people in the area by selling cakes at a cheap price.

“Alhamdulillah, sometimes the cakes are sold out in less than 2 hours,” she added.

If only more people would consider running businesses that double as a charitable cause, we’re pretty sure the world would be a way better place.

Kudos, Mak Cik Roslina, and thank you for showing us that not everything is about making big money.
