Mee Hoon, Bee Hoon or Mihun, no matter how you spell or pronounce it, we Malaysians know it all too well. It’s a common type of noodle Malays or Chinese use in their dishes. It’s tasty too!
However, shocking images of a mee hoon factory will leave your tummy churning at the sight the noodles next time.
Images captured in a factory in Dongguan, China has left netizens outraged and disgusted. How these noodles were manufactured, sorted and packed were mind blowing.
The images revealed that the factory obviously did not place any importance on hygiene at all, even though these noodles are meant to be sold in markets and be consumed by people.
Factory workers are seen working bare feet while tons of noodles were piled on the floor. A factory worker can be seen sleeping ON the noodles itself while another placing his feet on them. Yuck!
The leftover noodles that are yet to be packed are left out in the open, being easily exposed to pests such as cockroaches, insects and rats.
Netizens who stumbled across these images expressed their disgust and hoped that something was to be done to this factory, possibly even shutting them down. The exact source of these images are unknown.
Maybe you ought to think twice before consuming mee hoon.
