Life is not a fairytale and not all marriages end with a couple being happily ever after. Sometimes, when all avenues of reconciliation are exhausted, divorce is the best possible solution for both parties.
In fact, there are instances when divorce seemingly brings happiness to an individual and this viral video is a testament to that.
Making its rounds on social media, an Indonesian woman can be seen jumping for joy and expressing her delight at finalising her divorce from her ex-husband.
Shared by @terangmedia on Instagram, the 32-second video shows a woman exiting a building complex while carrying a document.
As it turns out, the woman has just finished finalising the divorce process, made official by the aforementioned document.
Recorded by her friend who was waiting inside a car parked outside the building complex, the divorcee was joyous and couldn’t contain her happiness after finishing the divorce process.
The video was accompanied by an overlaid caption saying, “When divorce is the way towards happiness”.
When the woman entered the vehicle, she can be seen showing off the divorce document while asserting,
“Oh God, this is the path that has been laid out for me. On the way to find a new partner. Thanks to God, I am now divorced.
“(This is) the divorce document. Thanks to God, You have ended this persecution.”

In the video’s comments section, netizens expressed mixed reactions to the video, with some being thankful for the woman finding happiness in divorce while others criticised the woman for her overzealous reaction to ending a matrimonial union.
One commenter said that she couldn’t imagine how the woman’s life must’ve been when she was married seeing how happy she is after finalising the divorce. She then urged the woman to stay strong.
However, most of the top comments saw the woman’s reaction negatively. One commenter said that while divorces are allowed in Islam, it is not something that God likes, hence the woman shouldn’t be overzealous in celebrating her divorce.
Besides that, another person questioned whether it was an arranged marriage given the woman’s reaction.
