Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah insists Malaysians celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri to have a closed-door celebration, this ‘unprecedented’ and ‘unique’ Raya.
Speaking to reporters during his daily Covid-19 briefing, Dr Noor Hisham states that the number of 20 people allowed in a house at one time is relative to the living spaces they are in.
“Forget about the number. 20 in a small apartment is not feasible and goes against what we are advising.”
“Stick to the SOP and comply with the 3Cs (confined spaces, crowded places and close contacts).”
“The number 20 is not a one size fits all.”
On a different note, Dr Noor Hisham has expressed his hopes that the people will know what to do when it comes to protecting themselves during the outbreak.
“These are unprecedented times and it’ll be an unprecedented Raya, but at least you have the chance to protect your family by imposing your own curfew at home.
“Make sure no outsiders come in and it’s also a good initiative to tell relatives in red zones not to come home as well for risk of infection.”
Let’s follow the recommendations made by the Health D-G and ensure that protecting ourselves against Covid-19 be made a priority for all Malaysians especially during Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
