Losing a child is undoubtedly one of the hardest things people have to go through in life and it can often turn people mad.
Recently, former Permatang Pauh member of parliament Nurul Izzah Anwar took to social media to announce that she has suffered a miscarriage.
In her post, she said that she lost her unborn fourth child while she was busy with her new duties, travelling back and forth between Penang and Putrajaya.
“We have been through so much together, after finishing campaigning, I got infected with Covid for the second time, got the news that we were pregnant with our fourth child, then, we were busy managing new assignments, going back and forth, back to Penang, then to Putrajaya,” she wrote.
“The little boot is gone. Surely, we belong to Allah and verily to Him do we return.”
In the post which included a picture of her getting hugged by her father, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and her mother, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan, Nurul Izzah went on to offer support to those who faced the same fate as her and reminded them that life goes on.
“And the splendour of joy and happiness – it lurks in every corner – whether it’s the smiles of Safiyah, Harith and Yu Zhou – or in the warm embrace of my own papa and mama, every moment counts. Happy homecoming in every warmth you experience,” she wrote.
“Healing is a journey – and if you need to take some time to breathe in the moment – just do it before the next chapter in life begins anew.”
Supported by her peers
Following her announcement, her followers and a number of other politicians have offered their condolences in the comments section including ministers Steven Sim, Hannah Yeoh and Sim Tze Tzin.
We would like to offer our condolences to Nurul Izzah and her family.
