Najib Razak was freed from the charge of 1MDB audit tempering yesterday (March 3), and on the same night, his daughter, Yana Najib took to her Instagram account to express her gratitude.

To Yana, this is the beginning of justice for her father, whom she believes has been accused of many things that he has never done.

“From the beginning, I’ve always believed that my father has been the subject of political accusations. He has also been treated unfairly from the opponents,” Yana said in her Instagram post.

Despite being acquitted of the charge with Arul Kanda, the ex-1MDB chief, Najib’s 12-year prison sentence for the SRC International case remains unchanged. Yana, on the other hand, believes that this implies a good start in the journey of fighting for her father.

“The fight is far from over, but this is definitely a promising start.”

Yana added that justice finally prevails for her father who is innocent, and assured that she’ll be patient to fight for her father as the truth unravels one by one.

In an Instagram story posted on the same day, Yana said that the acquittal from the 1MDB charges is Najib’s first victory within this 5 years, which is a huge relief for the former Prime Minister.

“Hopefully, Bossku will get the full justice he deserves during the judicial review for the SRC International case at the end of this month,” she added.

Yana also took the opportunity to thank her friends and fans for their support.

Last year, Najib Razak was convicted of abuse of power, three counts of breach of trust, and three counts of money laundering. Despite taking an oath in a KL mosque and filing an appeal for his prison sentence, his punishment, which includes a fine of RM21o million was maintained.

Do you think Najib will be freed from the charges of the SRC International case as well? We’ll find out by the end of this month, so stay tuned as we bring you more updates!
