A funny incident in Bangkok, Thailand went viral in the country recently, involving a heavily pregnant patron who had to go into labour while eating at a restaurant specialising in grilled pork.

Shared on the restaurant’s Facebook page, a snapshot from its CCTV footage shows the woman eating at the restaurant when she started experiencing labour pains. As of the time of writing, the post garnered over 3,600 shares on the social media platform and attracted national news coverage.

However, instead of panicking that her water broke, the woman remained calm and was actually disappointed that she didn’t get to finish her meal as the restaurant urgently arranged for transport to the hospital.

In the Facebook post, the restaurant’s manager, Yuthaphum Kaewkhem, affectionately known as Boom, shares how he was taken aback by the conversation he had with one of his employees who told him about the situation.

This is because the employee relayed the message from the woman who asked for the restaurant to not clear the table yet because she didn’t get to each much.

Furthermore, the woman also said that if she doesn’t give birth yet after reaching the hospital, she will come back to continue eating the meal she had, which includes grilled pork.

A stunned Boom then told the employee,

“Tell the customer that I will give her free food for the next 9 months. For now, she must focus on safely delivering her baby!”

Well, Boom better start fulfilling the promise as it was revealed via Boom’s Facebook page on Tuesday (17 October) that she had safely delivered the baby at the hospital. The post then went viral too with over 55,000 reactions.

Sharing photos of himself visiting the woman and her newborn baby, it was revealed that she was actually due to give birth on 27 October but had to deliver early.

Boom shared, writing as if from the perspective of the newborn child, asserting,

“Actually, I’m due to come out on the 27th. So my mother went to eat grilled pork but I could smell the smell of burnt pork. It’s like my mother couldn’t make the roast pork in time, so I came out to help her roast the pork.”

Funnily enough, the child was called น้อง หมูทะ which could also mean little grilled pork in Thai after the incident. Aww, so cute!
