As its name implies, Extra Spicy Ayam Goreng McDonald’s is going to be very, very spicy.

But if you were to ask naysayers or spice-chasers in Malaysia, most would probably attest that it is not really that spicy.

But there are still people who think the chicken lives up to its legendary name. Take this kid in Terengganu named Irfan for instance who gave the notoriously spicy fried chicken a try with his family and recorded his review while chowing down.

“Today I will try McDonald’s Extra Spicy Ayam Goreng, that many have told me is spicy. Hu meghoh nyala (It is bright red). Pedas sikit je (It is only a little bit spicy).”

But right after taking the first bite out of the chicken, his face spelt instant regret. But he still didn’t want to cut out his adorable hubris.

“The meat is not as spicy as the skin. The spice is only skin deep.”

He was mostly silent throughout the food tasting as he tried to hold back the tears and snot, speaking only to tell his mother how spicy the chicken is.

We agree that for some adults who have built up a tolerance towards spicy food, the Extra Spicy Ayam Goreng McD Challenge is nothing. But the same could not be said for kids!

We urge those out there wanting to try anything extreme like McDonald’s Extra Spicy Ayam Goreng to exercise extreme caution when doing so.
