How disturbing!

According to Coconuts, a secondary school teacher from Jakarta reportedly sexually harassed four of his female students by sending them pornographic photos and lewd texts via Line.

The teacher has since been under arrest by the Jakarta Metro Police. The 24-year-old identified as Tri Sutrisno allegedly sent two pornographic images to the underage students, along with other sexually charged texts.

In a report by The Star, Tri had sent images of a naked woman, and allegedly “advised” the students on how to sexually pleasure women.

One of the students’ parents found out about the texts and proceeded to make a police report against the English teacher. This led to his subsequent arrest on 10th August at the school in which he worked.

Currently, police are still investigating if the sexual harassment took any other form apart from sending inappropriate texts.

“If, in the development of this case, it’s determined that there’s someone who became a victim of (sexual) deviance, then we will give that victim trauma healing,” Jakarta Metro Police’s violent crimes unit head told the press.

Tri was charged under Article 76E of the Child Protection Act, the Criminal Code (KUHP) Act, and the Information and Electronic Transactions Act (UU ITE). If proven guilty, he will face at least 15 years in prison.

The Commission for the Protection of Indonesian Children (KPAI) have called for the most severe punishment for the accused if he is proven guilty, saying,

“KPAI asks that he is punished as heavily as possible so that this case can be an example to others who might potentially do the same thing.”

We hope the authorities address this case appropriately and hope the students can recover from the trauma this may have caused.
