Just yesterday (February 21), an underage girl was grabbed away by a 19-year-old man from the female section of the mosque when she was performing her morning prayer around 6:40 am in an alleged rape attempt.

PDRM has arrested the suspect, but word has it that the suspect possesses an OKU card.

PDRM has acknowledged the matter but has yet to confirm if the suspect is indeed a person with disabilities (PwD). Selangor Chief Police, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, said the police are still investigating the truth of the claim.

“We have yet to confirm the public’s claims about the suspect having an OKU card,” Hussein said during a press conference today.

The victim’s mother said she brought her daughter to the mosque for morning prayer. During the incident, her underage daughter was the only one in the row at the back, which made it easier for the suspect to grab her away unnoticed.

The mother lodged a police report around 8:19 am, and PDRM located the suspect quickly after he was arrested at noon.

The case is being investigated under Section 14 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, and the suspect will be brought to the Kuala Kubu Baharu Sessions Court on Saturday to obtain a remand order.
