Following the massive gas pipeline explosion that took place yesterday (April 1), many have been left confused and concerned over the location where the explosion took place.
Well, Subang MP, Wong Chen, is now clearing the air on this.
Taking to his Facebook page, he urged Subang residents not to panic and assured that the explosion did not happen in Subang, as he and his team have been bombarded with calls and messages from Subangites.

He wrote, “This post is to clarify a few things as there is a lot of confusion on whether the pipeline fire took place in ‘Subang Jaya’. My officers and I have been receiving many calls and messages from concerned people under Parliament Subang. Many witnessed the fire from their homes and assumed it was in our neighbourhood.”
“Some called and texted to provide some views on what we should do next. Some offered to deliver food to the victims. Some offered theories on the possible causes of the fire. Even the newspapers have also been contacting me for my views and comments, believing that the fire happened in “Subang Jaya”.
Where the pipeline fire actually took place
He then called out certain media platforms for wrongly geo-tagging ‘Subang Jaya’ in videos and posts of the fire, and clarified that the incident happened in Putra Heights under the Kota Raya Parliament and Puchong Parliament.

“The fire took place in Putra Heights, a large part of the area affected is in Parliament Kota Raja, a small portion is in Parliament Puchong. The social media responses of YB Mat Sabu, MP for Kota Raja and YB Yeo Bee Yin, MP for Puchong, are attached,”
“The fire DID NOT occur in Parliament Subang, nor in DUN Subang Jaya or DUN Kinrara. As such, for the constituents of Parliament Subang, please do not unnecessarily panic and please help to reassure your immediate neighbours,” he explained.
Wong Chen ended his post by highlighting that police officers and firefighters from the Subang Parliament were deployed to assist with the pipeline fire, and further clarified that requests for assistance from victims of the pipeline fire should be directed to the Parliamentary offices of Kota Raja and Puchong.
