The misuse of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is getting out of hand, and this time, a Malaysian Muslim singer became the victim of doctored images with accusations of her abandoning her faith.

Malaysian social media users came across an account whose owner claimed to be singer Daiyan Trisha, who has “converted to Hinduism”. In multiple posts of the account, the creator of the account also shared edited images of Daiyan wearing a Saree, and thanked the fans for their support following her “family’s disappointment” over her choice of faith.

The account, with the name Divyana Trisha, also claimed to be an “ex-Muslim”

One of the posts also shared “before and after” images of Daiyan, which showed her in a Hijab before her “conversion” to Hinduism. In the post, the fake Daiyan is seen in a Saree, claiming that she “has no regrets despite carrying the weight of what’s left behind.”

“A painful, yet necessary choice. The journey is hard, but Shiva’s blessings fill me with the strength to keep going,” the fake profile said.

The defamatory page with slanderous remarks was spotted by social media users on Threads, who were enraged by the discovery, and many of them have reported the fake account, which, at the time of writing (8 December), is inaccessible.

“I’m so tired of it!”

Daiyan Trisha is well aware of the existence of the fake account, and through her statement on Threads, urged social media users to continue reporting it.

According to Daiyan, who is baffled by the motive of the account, the fake profile was reported multiple times, but the account continued to emerge.

“Can everybody PLEASE report this account. OMG,  this is obviously FAKE, and I’m so tired of it! I really don’t understand the motive, like why? Stop this nonsense!” she stressed.

Some netizens also suggested Daiyan take legal action against the admin of the fake account.
