Any citizen who loves the country is invited to join the Turun Anwar rally at Dataran Merdeka this evening (July 26), Tun M said.
The rally, organised by the opposition, among other things, demands that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim resign as Prime Minister for allegedly failing to govern the country effectively. In a short video message, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad urged the public to express their dissatisfaction through the gathering, describing it as a channel permitted by democracy.
Tun M also shared what he believes Malaysians think of Anwar today:
“Malaysians are sick and tired of Anwar’s endless lies. Every time he speaks, he lies.”

Meanwhile, the former PM commented on PMX’s recent special announcement, which included a one-off RM100 cash aid, a fuel price reduction, an additional public holiday on September 15, and other measures.
“The attempt to blind Malaysians by giving them RM100 bills, lowering the price of oil by a few sen after the people were taxed so heavily, is like the left hand taking and the right hand giving.”
Tun M said that through the rally, it is hoped Anwar will realise that his administration is not what Malaysians want. He also claimed that Anwar did not win the election properly.
“Anwar did not win the election properly. He became Prime Minister through a power struggle after the general election. This means he is not even the people’s choice,” he said.
“Because of this, the gathering has the right to demand that Anwar step down. Anwar, step down. You have betrayed this country.”

PMX, however, recently insisted that he would not step down, stating that he had not stolen anyone’s money. He also instructed PDRM to provide the necessary cooperation to rally participants to ensure the event runs smoothly and safely.
What do you think of Tun M’s take on this matter?
