We’d be rich if our company does this. No, seriously.

A generous company in Guilin, China has recently launched a 3-month programme in a bid to get its employees in shape. For every kilogram they lose, the company will pay them 300 Yuan (RM180).

After the announcement was made, a majority of the employees suddenly showed deep interest in losing weight and signed up for this challenge. One of the more hardcore workers even set his target to lose 15 kilos in 90 days!

It was understood that the worker started the challenge on 11 September and by 2 October, he had already lost 5kgs. That means he is already 1500 Yuan (approx. RM904) richer!

However, there’s a catch. If the employees fail to hit their target set three months ago, they will have to pay a pre-determined price set by themselves for every kg they fail to lose. For instance, if the price was fixed at RM10 per kg, then a person who fails to lose 3 kilos will have to pay RM30.

As you can see, the programme is practically a gamble and particularly risky for those who don’t have self-discipline and self-control. Having said that, many staff still managed to hit their targets.

Some praised the company for being so generous while some said, “I didn’t know I can become richer just by being fat.”

Do you think Malaysian companies should adopt this culture? If you answered yes, please tag your bosses in the comments and let them know you need financial motivation to lose weight!
