The Covid-19 Sinovac vaccine has arrived today at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at about 9am. This is shortly after the arrival of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on Sunday.

According to Bernama, on January 13, Pharmaniaga announced the signing of an agreement with Sinovac to bottle and distribute 14 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI) Khairy Jamaluddin also elaborated that the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Division (NPRA) was in the process of evaluating Sinovac’s clinical data.

The Sinovac vaccine passed the third stage of clinical trials in several countries including Brazil, Turkey and Indonesia. Khairy Jamaluddin has also addressed the concern in regards to the approval of the Sinovac vaccine in a press conference right after the arrival of the vaccine.

To boost the rakyat’s confidence, Khairy Jamaluddin has also revealed that he will be the first to take the vaccine after it has been approved by NPRA.

With the arrival of the vaccine and the first phase of vaccinations happening as we speak, have you registered for your vaccination? If you have not, then please do so to ensure the whole process can be done smoothly for the sake of ourselves and everyone around us.
