At this rate, we believe that people on TikTok or those who are Gen Z have a separate dictionary with all their lingo. Naur we’re not complaining!

Anyway, many companies, organisations and key figures are now infiltrating TikTok to reach the younger audience. This includes Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister, Lawrence Wong.

On 9 February, the minister posted a TikTok clip that used Blackpink’s Shut Down as the background music. On 13 April, he made a reaction video to the comments on the February clip.

The first comment that he featured was written by a person named Daisy who said, “Thanks Daddy Wong.”

This comment made the minister smile a little in confusion before he said,

“Daisy, I’m not sure why you called me daddy but thanks anyway.”

In regard to his song selection, a person asked him if he was going to the BlackPink concert and he said no and asked the person to enjoy themselves if they are going.

Another TikTok user, by the name of Kelly, said that the DPM is a “fashion icon, purrr.”

Reacting to that, Lawrence laughed and said that he is in no way a fashion icon.

“You’ll always see me in the same shirts because if i find something that fits, I will buy multiple versions of it. I think that makes life simpler.”

The clip then ended with him asking for people to keep commenting on his videos.

Many netizens thought that the video was very entertaining.
