Yishun has been having a bad reputation in the past couple of years no thanks to some pretty sketchy incidences.

Considering the area is (in)femes for hellish neighbours who pour urine and other nasty liquids over people’s houses, causing some to build durian walls to ward them off, Yishun seems like the perfect place to find weird Singaporeans.

Plus, the town became such a big joke throughout Singapore that the nation even came up with the hashtag slogan, #MakeYishunGreatAgain!

True enough, a mysterious group of people really wanted to make Yishun a better place. And so, they decided to send special ‘care packages’ to all residents of that quirky place, All Singapore Stuff reported.

The box of goodies included a couple of cream buns and 3-in-1 Milo packets. Man, I want some of that Milo because Milo is love, Milo is life!

There was also a card attached to the box, which read,

“Hello neighbour!

“In light of all the Yishun news that has been making headlines, a small team of individuals passionate about anything that says ‘good vibes’ has decided to come together to surprise a whole block overnight, in the small ways we can.

“We hope you enjoy this little bag of goodness of whatever we can afford and that it will make your heart smile.

“Love, Your Neighbours.”

Aww, how sweet is that?

The back of the card also read, “One Block at a Time” in English, Malay, Mandarin and Tamil, which are the four official languages conversed in Singapore. There was also the #MakeYishunGreatAgain slogan printed on the pretty card.

For quite some time, residents of Yishun wondered who were the people behind this amazing team. Some thought it was a prank while others speculated that it could have been a publicity stunt by some multinational company.

Finally, a few days ago, the members of the group were revealed – they’re a bunch of regular Singaporeans who simply had a dream.

Dawn Lim shared a picture of the team on her Instagram saying,

“Thankful for friends who would forsake sleep at the most radical hours to fulfill a little dream we shared.

“So this morning, a few of us tried to #MakeYishunGreatAgain by saying hello to our neighbours, one block at a time.

“This ain’t all and we are already looking forward to the next block! Good vibes. Love, your neighbours.”

What an inspiring group of people who would do something great just because they could!

Now, if only someone were to send my neighbourhood similar care packages…
