Debris or any other foreign objects on the road are really dangerous as they could cause vehicle damage or worse, accidents.

Well, what if the foreign object is not something temporary that can be easily removed? In this particular case involving a road in our country, the foreign object is a street lamp which was somehow installed right in the middle of the road!

Circulating on social media, including in this post by the Facebook page Sabahan thanks to its absurd nature, a Malaysian shared photos of a full-fledged street lamp located in the middle of a single carriageway with 2 lines in Belaga, Sarawak.

The Malaysian who spotted the out-of-place street lamp asserted,

“Usually I only see people ‘trolling’ about this. But this time, I see it with my own eyes.”

Based on the photos, it looks like the road was recently paved or even potentially widened, which would explain the out-of-place street lamp.

Regardless, having the street lamp in the middle of the single carriageway is a really big oversight that should be rectified soon before unwanted incidents happen.

In the comments section of the post, many Malaysians made fun of the street lamp’s position and pointed out how dangerous such an oversight could be.

One commenter stressed that this poses a serious hazard, especially during the night time as many could inadvertently crash into the street lamp. Meanwhile, another commenter joked that the street lamp would literally make the single carriageway a “road to heaven”.

Besides that, one netizen sarcastically said that the contractor has a “high level” education, while another claimed that this situation is a result of both the contractor and local government being hotheaded.
