“The police and the community should always be together” is the caption that came with a Facebook post by Bernama News Channel that has attracted the attention of many Malaysians.

The post wrote about how the Shah Alam police reacted after catching a couple with three kids, one of whom is only 20 days old, sharing a single motorbike in Section 13, Shah Alam.

The couple and their three kids were on the motorbike trying to make their home in Kampung Melayu, Subang when four traffic police on duty spotted them.

But instead of punishing them by arresting or fining them, the traffic police officers decided to help the family by sending the mother and her three kids home in the official police vehicle.

It’s heartening to see that the officers paid attention to the most important aspect of the situation: the safety of the family, particularly the children.

The post has since garnered a lot of praise from the public towards the officers who were behind the act of kindness.
