A Malaysian man recently witnessed an injured dog being dumped in a big plastic bag at a dumpster in Kajang and left there to die.
Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB), a canine welfare initiative dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of rescued and abandoned dogs, received a call on 4 December from the man, who said he saw two men from a car with the registration number WTX 444 doing the cruel deed.
The man, Rozadi, freed the dog that was weak and emaciated with a massive wound around its neck, after which the dog crawled between two dumpsters and then dragged itself to a nearby drain and hid there.
MDDB said in a Facebook post that one of their volunteers got to the location but could not reach the dog, so she called the Bomba to seek help.
“The dog has been rushed to St Angel and will be admitted there. We suspect this is a factory dog that sustained injury to a tight chain around the neck,” they said.
“The heartless humans must have dumped it like garbage because they did not want to spend money on treatment.”
In another Facebook post, MDDB wrote that the dog is severely anemic and has a nasty maggot wound in its neck. It is believed that the dog was kept tied for a long period of time, causing the wound in its neck.
MDDB said that they are currently trying to track down the culprits, but in the meantime, they need to ensure that the doggo’s medical bills are paid.
“Doggo need to spend considerable time at the vet and we need your help to ensure the bill is paid and nothing is owed to the clinic,” they wrote.
“This looks like a long haul case and we need your help to see doggo through.”
If you are able to help with this doggo’s treatment, you can transfer the funds to St Angel Animal Medical Center at Public Bank (3140768212) and put the reference as “MDDB DOG DEC 3”.
After that, you need to either post the transfer slip on MDBB’s post, private message it or WhatsApp it to 0122501497.
