Recently, a young Filipino lady named Mikee Blanco, warmed netizens’ hearts after she shared that she bought a free meal for an old woman on Facebook. However, what she did next was even more admirable!
In her post, she wrote,
“This sampaguita (a type of flower) vendor approached me last night and told me that she hadn’t eaten anything for the whole day. So, I asked her to come with me to Jollibee.”
Taking pity on the old woman, Mikee couldn’t refuse her and agreed to treat her to a good meal at the fast food restaurant.

En route to the restaurant, a few hungry children who were also selling flowers noticed Mikee and the old woman. They quickly approached Mikee and asked if they could tag along to the restaurant for a meal.
Although Mikee’s initial plan was to only treat the old woman, she didn’t have the heart to reject those adorable kids. So, she gladly welcomed them to join them and enjoy a hearty meal together.

Instead of buying fried chicken sets, Mikee ended up buying a bucket of fried chicken so that everyone had enough food to satisfy their hunger. Sure, she had to fork out more money than she had planned earlier, but looking at the smiles on their faces, it was all worth it!

In her post, she also said,
“It’s really a good feeling doing a random act of kindness especially for those in need and knowing that these small gestures can make them so happy.”
Mikee’s selfless actions have definitely restored our faith in humanity. Frankly, we need more people like her in the world!
