The limited edition Hello Kitty Carrier from McDonald’s has finally landed on our shores yesterday (November 27th) and naturally, fans of the cute cartoon character went crazy over it. Long queues were formed as eager customers lined up to get their hands on the adorable item.
Since they only had limited quantities of the item, people were hurrying to the stores to buy it before stocks ran out. It was launched at 10am but there were already excited customers queuing from 7am as they really wanted the carrier. This carrier is supposed to be for your McDonald’s fries and drinks and can be carried like a bag or placed behind your car headrest.
You can get this adorable carrier for only RM29.99 with any purchase of a McValue meal in a single transaction at any McDonald’s restaurants. Now, in case you don’t know already, there are some Malaysians who don’t mind stooping to unscrupulous means to make a little money and you just know the words “limited edition” is enough to trigger scalpers.PS: We don’t want to link to these scalpers
It has been reported that many restaurants all over Malaysia have sold out of this carrier in just one day, so naturally, scalpers were quick to offer their wares on online shops. A quick search on various websites showed that scalpers were selling it from RM49.90 to RM500, which is almost 16 times its original price.
However, some scalpers are trying to sell it for even higher prices just because it was limited edition and there were some who sold it for as high as RM999, with another seller even trying for RM3,000! As a joke or what, we don’t know! It looks like no one has actually bought from any of these scalpers yet though.
Sigh, this is why we can’t have nice things. Isn’t it time these scalpers were seriously stopped?
