It’s Day 17 of the Movement Control Order and more people are starting to obey MCO more strictly. This is most probably due to the police taking stricter actions against those adamant people who don’t seem to follow simple instructions. We understand that those living alone are probably missing their loved ones and are desperate to see them but we have to think of the greater good. This MCO is just to keep us safe from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite countless warnings from the authorities, this Romeo decided to defy all orders and break the MCO. Why you ask? It’s because he wanted to pack food and give it to his girlfriend as he couldn’t bear to see her hungry.
Isla, 31, was found by police officers in the North District of Belsau, Miri at 8:05 pm on March 29. According to Sin Chew, he sneaked out of the street and was immediately apprehended by the police. When asked, he claimed that his girlfriend asked him to help pack the dinner. Fully knowing about the MCO, he simply decided to “try his luck”. Deputy Attorney General Mohamed Filan told that at this stage, everyone is facing the MCO and even if a family is desperate for food, they still have to abide by the rules.
“If anyone considers the interests of individuals and girlfriends to be more important than the public, then they deserved to be punished.”
The defendant is currently facing a fine of RM700 or 3 months in jail. He chose to pay the fine after hearing the sentence.
We hope this serves as a lesson to all. No matter how much you miss your girlfriend, please keep all your excess love for after the Movement Control Order. You can try this new invention, it’s called video call, try it!
