The corruption trial of former prime minister Najib Razak’s wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor’s corruption trial has been going on for some time now due to the leeway given by High Court Judge Mohammed Zaini Mazlan, after her lawyers had applied for their court dates to be ended early for various reasons, including the fact that she is always in pain and requires rest.

Hence, the defense has been allowed to end proceedings at 2pm everyday since the case started.

Unfortunately for Rosmah though, Judge Zaini has made it evidently clear yesterday that the trial must go on as per normal hours for the rest of the trial, as according to the The Star.

Due to the new orders, she decided to create a commotion in court after she refused to leave the dock when the court was ordered to adjourn for lunch. She remained stubborn as she wanted the proceedings to end for the day instead of her having to come back to court after lunch, according to The Star.

Her lawyers apparently tried their level best to get her off the dock but sadly, their efforts proved useless, so they ended up having to seek a brief session with Judge Zaini to explain her condition.

Unsure of what to do, the judge ended up allowing for the afternoon to end as Rosmah wanted, rendering his plan to have a full day trial unlikely to happen anytime soon.

The biggest reason as to why Rosmah has been allowed to end her proceedings early may be due to her ‘serious’ medical condition.

Though, we’re all wondering how long her proceedings will take before the court finally reaches a verdict if things keep going on like this.

If it was a common citizen on that stand and refusing to move, would they have given them the same leeway?
