Attention, commuters!

In line with the Transport Ministry’s efforts to introduce unlimited monthly passes for Rapid rail (RM100) and Rapid bus (RM50) services in 2019, Prasarana has just issued a statement announcing the cancellation of their MyRapid Bus 30 passes.

According to their statement, the MyRapid Bus 30 pass, which is used by commuters to travel by bus around Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, cannot be used after 31st December 2018. Sales of these passes will also cease effective 30th November.

This cancellation is to make way for the upcoming RM50 unlimited monthly Rapid bus passes (called “MY50” passes in Prasarana’s statement) that will start going on sale and can be used starting 1st January 2019.

Earlier this month, Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook announced at a press conference that both the RM100 (“MY100”) and RM50 monthly passes have the following features;

  • The passes last up to 30 days
  • MyKad or MyTentera can be used to purchase the passes at all MRT and LRT stations and 4 bus hubs in Shah Alam, Greenwood (Gombak), Sri Nilam (Ampang), and the Kajang terminal
  • Commuters can start registering for these passes starting December 2018

According to Prasarana’s statement, non-Malaysians can still enjoy discounts of up to 20% if they use their Touch ‘n Go cards or if they pay for their bus fares in cash.

This MY50 pass is applicable to all RapidKL buses except for the BRT (Sunway line), as it falls under the MY100 unlimited monthly rail pass.

For more information, you can contact Rapid KL via their Facebook or Twitter pages, or call their helpline at 03-7885 2585.
