Pos Malaysia Expected To Hit 2 Million Parcels Monthly With SendParcel

With online shopping and e-commerce being a part of the new normal that we live in today, it has certainly increased the demands of courier services everywhere. Pos Malaysia, one of the local favourite courier services are positive that with the possibility of Pos Laju SendParcel they will be hitting two million parcels monthly by 2021.

The Edge Markets reported that the chief executive officer of Pos Malaysia group Syed Md Najib Syed Md Noor said that Pos Laju SendParcel was launched over a year ago. Its purpose was to support the changing trend in customer behaviour, from physically going to stores to online shopping.

The number of registered users of the website increased significantly to over 86,000 within a year. SendParcel shipped more than 3.3 million parcels in total which generated RM21.7 million in revenue. They aim to achieve a revenue of RM30 million by the end of 2020.

Syed Md Najib also said that Pos Malaysia went all out into its digitalisation and transformation plans to unlock value for its customers. Pos Malaysia saw the arrival of global players with huge funding and technological capabilities.

The website was launched to the public in August 2019. Pos Laju SendParcel provides the desired customer convenience, especially for small and medium enterprises (SME).

Pos Laju SendParcel offers 24-hour access and fast order placements. Customers are also offered the best parcel rates, instant pricing quotes, free pick-up service, and auto-generated consignment notes including ease of shipment reporting and tracking.

They also expended their services by providing international deliveries to more than 200 countries worldwide. This has made it possible for SMEs and e-commerce businesses to reach overseas markets.

The company aims to improve its services via constant feedback from users.Ā  Pos Malaysia also introduced automation and other digital enhancement to ensure safe and on-time deliveries. Pos Malaysia has 28 distribution centres fitted with semi-automated sorting systems which reduce manual workload and streamline workflow for total efficiency. An additional four distribution centres with the semi-automated sorting system will also be added by the end of this year.

Pos Malaysia has seen immediate benefits to its processing capacity and speed where it is now able to process 60 per cent more items. The total processing time is cut down by one to two hours per, enabling the company to be on track in its aim to process one million parcels daily by the end of 2021.
