Legendary veteran Hong Kong actor, Benz Hui, passed away this morning (28 October) due to cancer.
His death was confirmed by the Hong Kong television broadcast company, TVB, today via an Instagram post, after Benz succumbed to his illness at the hospital.

Benz was hospitalised yesterday evening (27 October), and other actors and actresses who had the luxury of working with him immediately rushed to the hospital to visit him after they were told that Benz was in “critical condition.”
He was 76.
Most of the celebrities, however, refused to comment on the situation to the media who were waiting outside the hospital
Charmaine Sheh, one of the popular Hong Kong actresses who worked multiple times with Benz on different dramas and movies, cried during an interview after receiving the news about Benz’s hospital admission, saying that she would rush to Hong Kong to visit him.

At the time of the interview, Charmaine was in Macau and was scheduled to fly to Beijing, but subsequently cancelled her plan.
“He has been ill, but I can’t comment further on this,” Charmaine said.
Charmaine and Benz had maintained a close relationship over the years after having worked together multiple times in different productions.
Benz had over 50 years of history in the entertainment industry and had many prominent roles in different dramas over the decade. In 2014, Benz won “The Most Popular Male TV Character” for his brilliant portrayal of Tam Foon Hei (also known as Brother Foon Hei) in the crime drama Line Walker, which spawned a movie featuring the character, and two prequel dramas depicting the events before Foon Hei’s death.

Benz was also in Malaysia in 2022 and said that Malaysians are friendly during his visit.
According to Benz’s family members, he breathed his last at 2:30 AM today.
