Malaysian fast-food outlet Darsa Fried Chicken has reportedly closed its Bangi branch after just one year of operation.
Speculation about its closure arose after images went viral on social media showing the store’s doors shut with rental banners displayed outside. Furniture was also seen placed outside the premises, prompting social media users to question whether the Bangi outlet had permanently closed.

This is not the first time Darsa Fried Chicken faced speculation about closure. In September 2024, the management quickly responded to similar rumors, explaining that a photo of the quiet premises was taken in the morning before customers arrived.
Earlier in 2024, DFC went viral after its social media admin referred to the Chinese community as “Type C.” The management later issued an apology, assuring the public that such incidents would not happen again and promising improvements.
“Yes, the Bangi outlet is closed, but only temporarily.”

In one viral Facebook post, a user claimed that DFC’s signboard was still lit at night, but the shop was closed with no visible closure notice. He also alleged that the outlet had been shut for about a week.

According to a report by Oriental Daily, DFC management confirmed that the outlet was indeed closed, but only temporarily.
DFC stated that the closure is part of a relocation plan, though no specific new location was mentioned.
As of 3 January, DFC has yet to release an official statement, and its Facebook page remains inaccessible. DFC opened its first branch in Rawang, Selangor, in May 2024, positioning itself as “100% Muslim Bumiputera.”
Where do you think DFC might be relocating?
