Following that, the police have now reclassified the firefighter’s case from attempted murder to murder. Selangor’s deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Ab Rashid Ab Wahab was quoted as saying,

“Police have reclassified the case from Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder to Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.”

Prior to this, on 16 December 2018, IJN shared that Adib’s condition was critical after his lung and kidney functions had deteriorated. On 17 December 2018, Adib, who was supposed to be married in December 2018, was pronounced dead at 9.41pm at the National Heart Institute (IJN).

After the final rites and prayers at IJN, Adib was sent back to Kedah today (18 December 2018) via a helicopter (MI17-IV) that belongs to the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia. The fallen comrade’s burial is expected to take place after the Zohor prayers, today (18 December), The Star reported.

During this difficult period, we wish to extend our condolences to Adib’s family and fiancee. We hope that they will brave through this agonising moment with strength and perseverance.

RIP Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim, you’re a brave warrior who fought well; now, you will rest.
