Adeline once again dodged paying for her meal in SS2 noodle house, with her bill paid by 2 kind police officers who had no idea about her “modus operandi”.
The founder of the noodle house, Dato’ Eve Chan promised to return the money to the officers and yesterday, the matter was officially closed after Eve managed to pay them back. The officers, Najib and Bolkiah, however, had a lot to say about the experience in an interview.
Let’s rewind the clock back to Saturday night (May 11).
Najib and Bolkiah received the call about the viral incident at the noodle house on Saturday night (May 11). Both officers watched the CCTV footage and got statements from the staff at the outlet, and Adeline got to share the story from her side too.
The kind officers, however, just wanted a win-win situation for both parties.
“The dispute wasn’t anything criminal. They continuously argued and we just wanted to solve the issues, so we paid for Adeline.”
In Najib’s and Bolkiah’s eyes, Adeline was merely “a customer who was hungry and had no money to eat.” They were new in town and they hadn’t the slightest idea about Adeline’s viral news.
“We were not biased. We just wanted to settle the issues for both parties.”
Najib also said he felt sympathy with the cashier and didn’t want to burden her to explain the situation to her boss.
The officers really put their shoes in both parties’ situations!
“It was not Adeline’s 1st visit”
According to Dato’ Eve, the restaurant had NO intentions to trouble the police.
The cashier had to call the police because it was her 1st time in handling a customer who refused to pay.
“The cashier was well aware of Adeline’s behavior, and she visits here often but she had never caused any troubles until Saturday night.”
Dato’ Eve also said the cashier was afraid that Adeline would cause a scene there and disrupt other customers, so she immediately contacted the police before things escalated.
The founder of the noodle house met Najib and Bolkiah at the restaurant yesterday (May 13), where she returned the money to officers and put an end to the matter.
We genuinely thanked the officers’ kindness and generosity but at the same time, we hope Adeline’s history will not repeat elsewhere.
