A recent video has been making rounds online, capturing a group of police officers rushing to the aid of a man who had veered off the road and crashed into a ditch.

During a crime patrol on October 5th (Saturday), the MPV unit received information from the Kota Samarahan Police Ops Room about a vehicle involved in an accident with 4 other cars on the Kota Samarahan Expressway.

They tried to help the man who was still in the car

According to a post shared by Kota Samarahan District Police, the police headed to the scene and saw a black car which had skidded into a ditch at the accident site.

The MPV officers tried to open the car door but were unsuccessful. Under the direction and permission of the operations room, they broke the small rear passenger-side window and tried entering the vehicle through the right rear passenger door.

The man took out a machete

In the video, as the police officer tried to get through, the man inside suddenly pulled out a machete. He attempted to attack the officer, catching the officer completely off guard.

After giving multiple warnings and instructions for the man to surrender and hand over the machete, he refused to cooperate and attempted to attack the police officers again.

As efforts to persuade him to surrender failed, an arrest was made with assistance from the Kota Samarahan Fire Department. The man was eventually apprehended, and the seized items, including his car and a machete, were taken to the Kota Samarahan District Police Headquarters for further action.
