The actions of two teenagers riding modified bicycles (basikal lajak) dangerously led to trouble when they were detained by police after a video of their stunt went viral on social media last Thursday.

Subang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat, said a report was received at about 5:13 PM on Saturday.

“A police report was lodged by an individual who provided a video link showing two teenagers riding dangerously at the Putra Heights traffic light junction.”

Almost caused an accident

“Investigations revealed that the incident occurred on December 4 at around 5:55 PM, showing the two teenagers riding from Persiaran Putra Perdana towards Kampung Tengah before running a red light,” he said in a statement.

He added that their actions nearly caused an accident when they almost collided with a moving car during a green light, endangering themselves and other road users.
