A 30-year-old woman in Taman Medan was beaten by her own husband and verbally threatened by her father-in-law after an argument took place on 3 July.

According to Harian Metro, Petaling Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhruddin Abdul Hamid said the incident happened at 8pm when the woman was at her in-law’s house and had a misunderstanding with her 30-year-old husband, after asking him to send her back to her family’s home.

The woman then fled to Jalan PJS 5/28a, before going up to a shophouse whose doors were unlocked.

“Upon reaching the second floor the victim went straight into an unoccupied room and hid under a table. After five minutes, the victim heard the voice of her 61-year-old father-in-law asking if anyone had seen her enter the house but the occupants of the house said they had no idea,” Mohamad Fakhruddin told Harian Metro.

Father-in-law threatened her, husband beat her with a stick

According to him, the father-in-law looked around and found the victim hiding under the table. He then verbally threatened to hurt the victim.

“At that time, the complainant’s father-in-law told her to get out or he would injure the victim. When the victim came out, the father-in-law contacted her husband and as soon as the man arrived, he continued to hit his wife’s right shoulder with a stick,” he said.
