With all the relaxations that have been announced in the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), netizens have been worried regarding the state of the pandemic. In his live press conference yesterday, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced that CMCO is being extended for another month after Malaysians voiced out their concerns.

True to the worry of some, Perak recorded two new Covid-19 cases merely nine days after it was declared as a green zone on the 1st of May.

Perak Health Director, Datuk Dr Ding Lay Ming said that the two positive cases were of siblings who hail from Sitiawan aged 29 and 30 years old respectively.

“The first case was detected through testings before returning to work. The second case was detected by the close contact detection of the first case. Both cases were asymptomatic.”

The source of the infection is still being investigated. In his press conference yesterday, Health DG, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that 67 new cases were recorded yesterday and only one of the case was imported and 49 of the infected were non-Malaysians.

Let this be a reminder to us that danger has NOT passed! We are still in a Movement Control Order battling a pandemic. Please STAY HOME and maintain social distancing if you have to leave the house.
