A convenience store in Penang’s Perak Lane caught fire last night at around 8:30pm. According to reports, 80 per cent of the store was damaged.
According to the Penang Butterworth’s fire and rescue department, firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving the report at 8:28pm. The fire engulfed all the store goods, including chilli sauce, tomato sauce, soy sauce, soybean milk, and more.
The store owner, who usually would stay in the store, went home early to rest due to headache. She is fine and uninjured, as reported by the fire and rescue department.
According to SinChew Daily, three trucks in front of the store were also moved away in time.
