Time and time again we’ve seen how ministers and politicians utilise police escorts to get them out of traffic jams, while regular folks tend to get stuck in traffic for hours in a day.
Now, a politician is calling for the authorities to do something after knowing how it feels to get caught in traffic during this long weekend holiday season.
According to a report by Oriental Daily, Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow missed 2 events on Saturday (September 14), after getting stuck in a 9-hour traffic jam when travelling from Selangor to Penang.
“I drove back to Penang from Selangor at 2pm yesterday, and it was already past 11pm when I arrived in Penang,” he said.
Due to this, he missed 2 events on Saturday, namely the Mid-Autumn Festival celebration at a Batu Kawan temple at 7pm and the 105th-anniversary banquet of an old Chinese association at Penang Town Hall at 9pm.
He then urged the government to look into the constant traffic jams on expressways during long weekends.
Well, now, at least 1 politician knows how Malaysians feel about getting stuck in traffic for hours rather than using a police escort to beat the jams.
