PEMULIH: Additional BPR Payments Of Up To RM500 Will Be Made Starting 29 June

During the nation’s economic recovery plan (PEMUILH) announcement today, Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin, said that the government has agreed to pay an additional RM500 in Bantuan Prihatin Rakyat (BPR) handouts in July and payment will made in stages starting tomorrow, 29 June.

The third phase of the BPR payment with assistance rates ranging from RM100 to RM1,400 ringgit will be paid starting September. Overall, the total value of BPR payments being handed out until the end of the year amounts to RM4.9 billion. There will also be Covid-19 Special Assistance (BKC) with the rates and categories as follow:

  • Low-income category households will receive financial assistance of RM500 in August, RM500 ringgit in November and RM300 in December. Low-income individuals will receive RM200 in August and RM300 in November.
  • B40 category households will receive financial assistance of up to RM500 in August and RM300 in December. While singles in the B40 category will receive the assistance of RM200 in August.
  • M40 category households will also enjoy financial assistance of up to RM250, while singles in the M40 category will receive RM100 in August.
