Assistant Commissioner Norhizam Bahaman, Sepang District Police Chief, said based on police investigation, the suspect is still in the country. At the time of writing (July 13), 9 individuals, including the management of the temple, had provided their statement to the police.

The matter is currently being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for assault or use of criminal force to a person with intent to outrage modesty.

Earlier, in her lengthy Instagram post, Lishalliny said the priest allegedly molested her under the pretence of performing a blessing ritual for her, during which he put his hands into her blouse. The priest also reportedly blamed and scolded her for wearing a tight outfit.

The management allegedly did not take the matter seriously, and Lishalliny lodged a police report after sharing the incident with her mother.
