Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) officers are sometimes not only there to assist humankind. When there is a furry friend in need, it appears that they will not hesitate to help.

This includes jumping into a drain to save a little puppy that fell in.

The Polis Daerah Hulu Selangor Facebook page recently shared how an officer jumped into action upon hearing that a puppy had fallen into a drain.

They wrote, “Thank you to the members of MPV IPD Hulu Selangor, Sjn Padrick along with L/kpl Rodhi for helping to save the puppy.”

“Hulu Selangor, April 8, 2023, at approximately 1820 hours (6:20pm), SL 1077 was patrolling at the Lotus warehouse at the Bukit Beruntung intersection, and while patrolling they received information from the public that a puppy fell into the drain.”

That was when they decided they had to help!

Polis Daerah Hulu Selangor went on to explain that people may have assumed that they were conducting a roadblock when seeing the officers by the road side, attempting to save the puppy.

“Sometimes Malaysians are ‘traumatised’ when they see the police on the side of the road.”

“They would say that there is a roadblock la, the officers are giving out summons la, the officers are not friendly and arrogant la, but they don’t know the real story. (This is) for the responsibility and concern for the community. If we see (anything), we will stop to help, right?” they added.

In the comment section of the Polis Diraja Malaysia (Royal Malaysia Police)’s post, netizen Waty Abd Hamid also showcased the puppy happily eating some food after being rescued by the officers.

“They (the officers) were very helpful and didn’t hesitate to help. Hopefully they are kind hearted rescuers that have taken it and give it shelter,” she wrote.

Kudos, to both the officers for making the effort to save the puppy!
