The good folks at the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) employed a rather cunning plan to apprehend illegal street racers or ‘Mat Rempits‘ in Kuantan, Pahang, recently, catching most of them by surprise while they were loitering at an undisclosed road in the state capital recently.

A video of the operation in action has since gone viral online, garnering over 790,600 views and more than 8,500 likes as of the time of writing on X (formerly Twitter).

Malaysians were impressed by Kuantan Police’s cunning tactic

In the comments, many Malaysians were impressed by the tactic employed by the Kuantan Police and hope that this would further deter Mat Rempits from engaging in public nuisance.

One commenter shared that the police officers were ‘next level’ for going undercover and maybe after this, they would pretend to be food delivery riders to foil the Mat Rempits’ activities.

Meanwhile, another commenter said that the female police officer disembarking from her vehicle and putting on her police vest had a cinematic feel to it, like a slow-motion scene in an action film.
