Earlier this week, it was reported that Datin Seri Pamela Ling Yueh, the 42-year-old wife of a Sarawakian businessman, was abducted by people dressed in police uniforms.
She and her husband were said to be under investigation over a money laundering case, and her abduction was discovered when she didn’t appear at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on April 9 to provide them with her statement.
Could she have staged the kidnapping?Â

Now, the Royal Malaysia Police has confirmed that they have not ruled out the possibility that Datin Seri Pamela Ling Yueh could have orchestrated the whole abduction.
According to a report by Kosmo, the Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa, shared that this possibility is among those being investigated by his department, as CCTV footage shows the abduction happening smoothly, without any struggle, as the victim allegedly cooperated with the suspects.
“This is indeed our investigation process. We will conduct a thorough investigation from every angle. So, the possibility (that it was self-orchestrated) is being investigated by the police,” he said.
What we know so far

Prior to this, it was reported that the Datin Seri had taken an e-hailing ride from Cheras, heading to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya on April 9.
During the journey, the e-hailing vehicle she was in was intercepted by 3 vehicles near the MACC headquarters, and she was ordered to get into one of the vehicles.
The e-hailing driver shared that, during the journey, the Datin Seri had called someone in a low voice. She also handed him RM100 in cash before following the suspects dressed as police officers, into one of the other vehicles.
