What were some of the excuses you used to think of when younger in order to avoid getting scolded by your parents? No matter what you could’ve thought of, it’d be hard to top this case.

Recently, it was reported that a 13-year-old boy was so scared of getting scolded by his father for coming back from school late that he lodged a fake police report about getting kidnapped.

According to a statement by Nilai district Police Chief Superintendent Abdul Malik Hasim, the boy lodged a report at the Lenggeng police station in Negeri Sembilan, where he alleged he was kidnapped in front of his school.

“In the report, the boy claimed that he was in front of a bus stop at 2.15pm when a white Honda car approached him. A man then pulled him into the car, tied his hands, and gagged his mouth.”

“The boy also claimed that he was taken to an unknown location but managed to escape,” he said.

Abdul Malik explained that police investigations later found the kidnapping incident to be untrue as the boy had fabricated the story simply because he was afraid of being scolded by his father for being late as he was playing at his friend’s house and did not return home on time.
