The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has issued an update on the viral video circulating online, showing two men climbing onto the roof of their moving car at two separate times mid-journey on the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP).

Sepang District Police Chief ACP Norhizam Bahaman asserted that the two individuals seen in the video are foreign nationals. Both were arrested and remanded for two days, but they have been released on police bail on Saturday (17 May).

Harian Metro quoted Norhizam as saying that during the incident, the duo was on their way to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to send the driver, who was returning to his home country of Tajikistan.

An initial investigation found that both men who performed the dangerous ‘stunt’ were passengers, while the driver was not involved.

The first man reentered the vehicle through the rear passenger window after climbing onto the car roof before the other passenger did the same thing.

The foreign men were released on police bail as the remand period had ended

The duo was arrested by the police after the video went viral, but they have since been released on police bail after the remand period ended.

The Sepang District Police Chief said that the case is being investigated under Section 32(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Additionally, the investigation paper will be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) for further action.
