The 10-year-old kid who was found dead in a swamp after going missing for a day was murdered, according to PDRM in the latest update.

In a press conference yesterday (August 18), the Sungai Siput District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd. Khaizam Ahmad Shahabudin said the results of the post-mortem showed injuries on the victim’s neck and private part.

The 10-year-old Nuraina Humaira Rosli was also believed to have been sexually assaulted before she was murdered, according to Khaizam.

“There were pressure marks on the neck and also tear marks on the victim’s genitals. I was also told by the family that the victim had hearing problems,” Khaizam said.

Nuraina was said to have gone missing while playing around the village in Sungai Siput, Perak last Friday before being reported missing.

A male suspect aged 17, who knows Nuraina personally has been arrested to assist in the investigation, and starting today (August 19), he will be remanded for 7 days.

The remand order starting today until August 25 was issued by Magistrate Nurul Asyifa Redzuan against the suspect to allow the investigation to continue in accordance with Section 302 of the Penal Code.

The case, however, is still in the early stages of investigation, and Khaizam said the police will call a few more people to assist with the investigation.

“Please look after your child”

During the press conference, Khaizam also reminded everyone, especially the parents to look after their children and not leave them alone.

In the meantime, Khaizam reminded the public NOT to speculate and interfere with the police investigations.
