Perikatan Nasional and PAS rep Takiyudin Hassan went public and slammed Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for his move to reduce allocations for MPs by 65% this year.
The move, which was made to control the country’s finances, will see the budget slashed from RM3.8 million to RM1.3 million, did not go down well with Pakatan Harapan as the party reminded the PM of his campaign promise during GE15 that equal distribution of funds will be given to all MPs.
Adding that Anwar Ibrahim should not succumb to ‘revenge politics’ against the opposition, Takiyudin adds that the current government should just continue the previous practice of providing equal amounts to all MPs.
Netizens commenting on Takiyudin’s post, did not agree with him.
One netizen wrote: “Just stop it. When PN was in power, allocation from Pekan, Bagan Datuk, Pontian and Padang Rengas only received RM100k, whilst others got RM3.5million.”
Another commented: “Try to be a more gracious Opposition block instead of whining all the time.”
